Starting off with #6, Jurassic World hit the theatres with a massive cult following after its previous movies in the series.
Movies transport us. This movie is no exception. We enjoy a story like this because it puts us right in the action of something possible, but larger than life. Movies can take us to Urban Paris and the Tropical West Indies. They can take us to the hot sands of the Sahara or blistering cold of the Arctic in a matter of seconds. It can take us around the world to see things we have never seen before. It can also aggrandize things – the way our imagination did for us when we were kids.
Jurassic World takes an idea and brings it to life. It transports us to another “possible world” in which scientists actually “recreated” dinosaurs.
This auction item transports us back to our memories of this movie as well as all the movies that come along with this story. Some of us grew up watching the cult classics. It’s for this reason why we shouldn’t be surprised at its Global box office revenue coming in at $1.671 billion and its Domestic box office revenue coming in at just over $652 million.

#2 “Avatar” (2009)
Avatar comes in as the second highest grossing movies of all time. Yet, not many people are still talking about it. Why?
Movies create other worlds…but we want to meet people wherever we go! This movie was amazing in its construction. The SGI was unprecedented at the time. The world-building was elaborate. But the story seemed lacking. Not many people fell in love with the characters and the story the way we have with the Marvel Universe or Star Wars.
This movie offers a good example of what it means to present something quality, but not interesting enough for your audience. A good auction item connects with your bidders, just like a good movie!
